What do we lose most often? Keys are right at the top of the list of the most frequently lost items! Many of us have found ourselves wondering: “Damn, where did I lose my keys? What do I do now?”. Losing them means a lot of hassle, extra costs and unnecessary stress. So how do you avoid losing your keys?
Define a fixed spot
A place where you will always put your keys down when you come in. It should be reasonably within reach – for example, when you walk in with heavy shopping bags in your hands and not much room to manoeuvre. Decorative key hooks fixed to the wall right by the door work brilliantly.
A lanyard
Attach a brightly coloured lanyard to your keys. Your eye will spot it much faster than a small, flat key that likes to blend in with its surroundings. A lanyard like this will also help you fish your keys out of the bottomless depths of a handbag.
Keep your keys separate
Do not put your house keys and car keys on one bunch. If you lose it, you lose everything and expose yourself to much higher costs.
Protect your keys with a key ring tracker
Attach a small notiOne tracker in the form of a key fob to your keys. Even if you lose them away from home, a marker on the map will show you where they are. This little device, the size of a five-zloty coin, is light, practical and does not need charging – the battery lasts for almost a year.
A backup above all
Get a spare set of keys cut and leave it with someone you trust for safekeeping. It will not stop you losing your own set, but it will certainly save you a lot of nerves and puzzling over how to open the lock. It will also save you money if your keys get lost.
That is not all
Never label your keys with your address or your full name. Putting your phone number on them is risky too. If they are stolen or lost, a dishonest finder will certainly know how to use that information.
And if you are curious how notiOne works and how it can be used to locate keys, documents, a bike, a child or a dog, even at the other end of Poland, watch our video. What is more, as a reader of our blog you can get a 20% discount!
